Brooks Axiom
Hi Stupot,
the Axiom is a much lighter weight shoe than the Asics 2100 and doesn't (or isn't intended to) offer the same level of stability. So I'm not suprised that you might be finding tightening calf muscles on a longer run. The Axiom would be more suited to your shorter faster sessions. The Brooks equivilent to the 2100 is the Adrenaline GTS which would give you the stability that you need on those longer runs. The Axiom's lightweight posting (grey part on midsole) is designed to give a fast transition and lightweight feel to the shoe - which is ideal for faster sessions such as tempo runs and interval work.
