new trainers

Hi All,

I bought some new trainers; a pair for indoors and a pair for outside in rough conditions.

I cant post URLs yet because I'm new here but here they are:

sportsshoes.com/product/ASI720/asics-gel-sensei-spring-summer-2008-indoor-court-shoe

sportsshoes.com/product/ASI745/asics-gel-torana-trail-shoe-

Anyone know if they're any good? I haven't really tried the indoor ones yet but the toranas seem pretty good.

Asics are a very good brand, whenever I have been waiting for races to start I sometimes look at other shoes and asics always seem the most popular, sounds a bit sad I know but its just something i do until the gun goes

When you bought these shoes did you have a gait analysis done to ensure they are the right shoe for you?

If you did then there is nothing to worry about and you have got a good pair of running shoes.

I hope that helps.

When I bought mine, I had the analysis done and they then got me try on about 4 pairs that suited my feet.

I then disregarded the price, colour, style and make and chose the most comfortable. I ended up with a pair of nike air structure triax 10. They've proved to be the very good and I'll choose that method every time and it's well worth finding a specialist shop that can provide that service and also well worth the bit of extra money they cost.

Asics are a big brand, if they fit you comfortably then they'll be a good shoe

I'm an asics man and interested to see if I choose asics again next time I go for a trainer fitting. (I'll try my utmost not to be biased to the brand when choosing by comfort)

Just as a side issue. How often do you renew your trainers? Is it time or distance that determines the renewal date or merely that fact the the trainers become knackered?

Like you scr8pe I spent over an hour on saturday trying 4-5 different brands not knowing the price on any of them and plumped for New Balance in the end which actually feel quite like Nike, I have always preferred Nike myself, but decided to give these ago.

It really is worthwhile getting an analysis done.

General rule of thumb is to change them around 500miles... I'll tend to keep running in mine until there are visible signs of wear and tear (e.g. tread has worn away in a particular area or the soul has deformed slightly).
