Pegasus 2007. They did a wide fit which meant I could have an 11.5 instead of 12 and they were Nike+ enabled

Hopefully you'll get a half decent response. Doubt it though

Ive had a reply and guess what, Richard, you were right!

Basically they have said the shoes must be too tight, too loose or I should buy moisture wicking socks and they very kindly recommend a pair of Nike socks that I should try! If all that fails then they recommend either lubricating my foot or putting a plaster or syrgical tape on the area which is affected!

They ignored the comments I made about a gap forming within the shoe and the inner sole coming away from the inside of the shoe and that I have tried different socks with no difference AND that I had the shoes fitted at a running shop who recommended this shoe for my running style and the fit.

Ive replied asking them if they did actually read my email or if it was just a standard letter which they send out when someone contacts them with regards to blisters.
A prime example of a international company not really giving two hoots about their customers once they have bought the product.

I will keep you all updated I don't like complaining but the reply really got me annoyed.

O.

Well had another reply from them and the short of it is, I have to take them back to the shop I bought them from and let them deal with it.
Nike can not directly help with this matter as they have a returns procedure in place with their retailer but they were very grateful for my feedback and it will help them improve the quality of their products in the future.
Just a shame I wont be buying any Nike shoes in the future.

So, it looks like I will be taking back my shoes and I will find out what happens next.

Funnily enough I have had a similar problem with my Asics. I keep getting a blister on my right instep and I think it is because there is a slight gap between the insole and the trainer. This is despite wearing twinskin Hilly socks.

Now why couldn't they have just sent that second email in the first place eh??

Oh wait... that's right... because by suggesting some nike socks, not only do they eradicate the problem of having a returned pair of shoes, but they've generated further revenue! I guess the response would be the same from virtually any manufacturer though - nice to know they really do care about our welfare as runners...

Well I went to my local running shop and once again they came up trumps

They had a look and they said that the nike insole did have a reputation of being hard edged. They had had a couple of people coming back with another model of nike shoe which used the same insole saying they were also having issues with them.
They swapped the insole out and told me to give it a go, if it works then great, if it doesnt then they will look at changing the shoe.
All of this Free of charge!

Another good reason why you should buy from your local shop rather than online

What's the record for the most miles in trainers before they just disintergrated?

I doubt anybody on here will beat that John.........

About 5/600 miles is the limit for mine.

The only reason I'm going to be replacing them is the amount of grip on them now. As we head into winter I don't want to risk injury because I've got rubbish grippage on my shoes!

I'll get onto the Guinness book of records then......

wow.... i am ashamed to say my running shoes are my old badminton shoes, which since i went on a couple of 30 mile hikes in, and been wearing them for gardening. They are knackered and around 8 years old but due to the fact my feet reeked after running i didnt want to ruin good shoes.

now 7 months on and seeing as i am still running, maybe its time to invest in something more the part (esp as the white spongy support stuff is crumbling and there are no grips on.

but £70! <ouch!> thats more than 3 times what i have ever spent on footware <aside from a pair of reebok basket ball shoes back in the 80's when they were "cool">

A good pair of running shoes makes a huge difference! I originally thought "£70! No chance!" but then I got my gait analysis done at my local running shop, paid the money and to be honest, I havent looked back. The shoes are lighter than my other shoes so you hardly notice them, they are better ventilated so my feet dont sweat / smell and they are really comfy and allow me to run longer, without getting any injury.
Ask anyone on here and they will recommend getting proper running shoes.
