Anyone have Mizuno runners?

When I first started running I used to wear a normal old pair of Nike trainers. I always got blisters and sometimes pain in my shins. A friend advised me to get new running shoes. I didn’t think it would help... how wrong I was. Went to the local specialist shop, purchased a pair of Mizuno Wave Elixer 2. They are quite possibly the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned, never had a blister with them. Anyone else have Mizuno runners?

Not me... I'm an asics man! (for the time being at least) - I've heard many people comment on how much they like their Mizuno's, but at the end of teh day it's just a case of what you as an individual feels most comfy!

I'm a mizuno runner

I have never had a shoe which is built as well as Mizuno, even the glue seems to last 3 times longer than any other manufacturer.

I have Idaten, Precision and Wave Rider for my shoes, race up to distance training shoe. In fact I've not worn any others since 2005! And I haven't had a blister either (even running with bare feet)

These are my first proper running shoes, so not much to benchmark against. They do seem to fit my feet perfectly, and its good to hear they last well!

I've had Mizuno Asics Mizuno but now I'm back to Asics. In disagrement with TL I found the mMizunos wore out faster than the Asics. Each to their own though.

I would be interested to try mizunos... Never seem to find anywhere that sells them

Asics seem incredibly hard-wearing though, based on the one pair I've known...

I've had two pairs of trainers and one pair of racers, my current trainers aren't far off needing replacement but all pairs still look pretty much brand new! (apart from some creasing in the cushioning foam that would indicate high mileage)

I am an Asics fan, but have Mizuno trail shoes. First time out fell over gashed my knee and elbo, my own fault probably. Only gripe is the tongue bit under the laces isn't very adequate, have to lace up loose or they rub. Also laces could do to be a few inches shorter. Apart from that, grip on wet mud is really good, and feet don't get wet or hot.

Just worked out I'm up to about 480miles on my current trainers, so I'll be looking to change soon - how exciting!!

I'm still running in my first pair of mizuno race shoes. They weigh 215g and running up and down steps and on sand they are still going strong. Asics seem to have something that makes the soles get really hard 1/2 way through the life of the trainer.

But it also depends on the person, Asics were always fairly wide, where as mizuno are narrow which suits me and the tongue is fine with that. Often you can stay with the manufacture that suits your foot.

I'd be interested to try the Mizuno's then if they're a little more narrow; my only criticism of the asics is that i've noticed they're a little loose in the forefoot area, meaning I need to tie them a little tighter which can bunch the material up at the base of the tongue.

Before Mizuno i had 3 pairs of Nike runners. They were good, but not so good as my new Mizuno Nirvana 4 runners. They fitt excellent of my feet.
