As much as I would love to win it, like any event it really depends who turns up and I wont be pushing myself as it's just a training run.
Sub 3 for you?

Hi Frank,
I'll be entering this one again, assuming I'm fit and well come Jan. Just got to get a house move, job change and Loch Ness Marathon out of the way first!
Rich, you've got a circular link there - Gloucester Marathon 2010
For info the Marathon is on 23rd January 2011, entry forms are here, its now £28 (affil) or £30 (non-affil) and entries close on 5th Jan 2011.
Just noticed 23rd Jan is my wife's birthday.....hmmmmm

I doubt it stu. Ill have a stab at thew london qualifing time i think. Havnt enoung spped in the legs for sub 3. Done 10 marathons this year so far. Another 4 at least planned before the end of the year also.
Hopefully we can have a few drinks after next years race. I remember i though that those were hills in gloucester last year. Only bumps in my mind now after some of the hills ive crawled up this year

Be good to have a few drinks, hopefully this year I'll be able to hang around, as my wife WILL NOT be 39 weeks pregnant as she was last year.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with where to find some basic information on the race?!.. hopefully i'm not just being dense..
Just things like start time, nearest train station etc. I cant seem to find it on the website.
Would anyone say that this would be a good first marathon or no?.. I don't think i'll be keeping up with any of you somehow...

Kay,
Personally I wouldn't recommend it as a first marathon, it is not flat, it is pretty rural and the course could get pretty lonely. Details below

On the other hand, it is a friendly field of runers, well organised and is logistically easier than a bigger marathon (IMO). Don't expect a lot of support though!
Based on your half time I expect there would be a quite a few runners running around your pace. To make sure you don't get lonely though try and arrange a pace group before hand (here or RW or Fetch). Or do what I did and get a future elite athlete to trot round and pace you .
Depends what you want from your first Marathon really!
