was really disapointed this morning. Went out to do this a year after i done the mile in 7:20 .
Ended up going out to fast and when i got to 0.6 mile I had to slow up because my head was pounding so much i thought i was going to explode. 0.6 was at av pace of 6:30 tho so do you think on another day i could beat my old time. also has anyone ever experienced there head pounding like that while running. ?

Exertion headaches are not uncommon.
Exercise headaches - MayoClinic.com
This explains about them. Do you have a cold or any sinus problems at the minute?
If you held 6.30 for 0.60 then you should be able to beat 7.20 no problem.

Just did a little 2.1 mile run and my first mile was timed at 9.26. I was pushing but not full on.
9.26 is very slow compared to most of the runners on here but considering i was running 12 min miles when i started 3-4 months ago I'm pretty chuffed with myself

As of today my 1 mile pb is 8.61

Silly one
Why that face!!??
It's great that you have a (training, not racing) PB that you feel is slow for you. Plenty of room to improve and motivation to do it
By the way... 8. 61????
Reminds me of the time when my PB in the Marathon was 3h03m and when asked I would say it was 2h63m

Been thinking about cracking a 5min mile for a while now , went for it on tuesday night got 5.31, however it was my 12th mile of the day, still think knocking 31secs off will be tough though, will try to have a go fresh next week sometime.

Does a downhill mile count?!!! If so, I clocked 4.03 between miles 7 and 8 last week at the May Hill Massacre, but there was an ever so slight incline ; )

Nah, 'fraid not! Try again.
Must try this again sometime, my last effort was when I started running last year and it was a 6:52.

I have to wait until the Self Transcendence 1 mile race series starts again in the Summer before I can go for my sub 5 minute mile! The club always seems to do a 1 mile time trial on the weeks I don't go

I ran a 5:47 mile last night. Not sure when I will be running a mile that fast again. I think I will stick to 5 and 10K.
