Resting and Loss of Speed
How long do you think you can rest (i.e. no activity) before you start losing running speed?

I would say you could get away with around 3-4 days of non activity before speed loss.

for general fitness to decline i reckon about 2 weeks. if i have say 4 weeks with a couple of gentle 5 mile runs each week (during injury recouperation) i reckon to be about 5% slower over a 10k.
