Help me Karen.

I`ve filled in last years runs on the David Hays spreadsheet and am now trying to start 2007.
Every time I try to set it up the log brings me back to 2006.
If you or any body else understands what I mean can you please let me know what I`m doing wrong.

Thanks.......................

I've got written diaries going back around 5 years.

Now I keep a log of my current training programme on a spreadsheet too and have just started a training blog for my half marathon training, the link is in my sig.

Dave,

I think for each year you have to start a new spreadsheet from the original template. On the set-up tab you can load your previous figures for lifetime running, shoe mileage etc so they continue to accumulate.

I have been running about 3 years but only since my 1/2 marathon training started recently have I been logging my schedule on the forum, which makes it good to look back on. So I think I will keep it going now...

Dave, I've done exactly as Calton1954 suggests, and that has worked fine for me. Thanks Calton, for working this out. I'd seen the problem, but hadn't tried to resolve it yet. Saved me some headwork too.

Get cheap lined note book and biro.
Do a week across two pages. Write down what you ran, did etc.
No need to log on to post your 'training' on a web site.

I have handwritten diaries/notebooks going back to 1979. It's almost like having my own autobiography!

pedestrian - ever thought of gathering the training plans (or at least the "sequences" you had) leading to your best races and publishing them?
I think I would by one - with a fair Runners' Forum discount, of course

It's a nice Idea, but I think I'm too lazy to do it properly.
Unfortunately, there was never much of a "plan" involved in my regime. Everything just seemed to come about as a natural consequence of running a lot.
... Anyway, there are probably far more interesting stories out there waiting to be told...
And I know I've certainly read some myself! (Ever read Ron Hill's autobiography, Fulmar?)
