Talking The Taper

How do you keep sane during THE TAPER?!

To me this 2/3 week period is almost harder than the training itself. Running a lot less plays with your mind....will I be fit enough on the big day?

Of course I know THE TAPER is important...I'm an experienced marathoner after all (if not a good one) ...but I still feel as if resting is wrong! All I seem to do at this time is eat and sleep....obviously not a bad thing but my running shoes keep talking to me!

So what do you do during this time?

and me

There is an actual condition called 'Taper Madness' that is prevalant among runners at this time so the postings on the forum might even get a little more strange over the next couple of weeks... just ignore us...it'll pass eventually
