I only started running shortly after my 40th birthday so still get PBs. I hope to knock 30 mins of my marathon pb at Abingdon in a couple of weeks . . .

What's the offical line on Vets now - apparently I can be classed as one (35), but I'd feel slightly ridiculous

I thought it was 40+ for men and 35+ for ladies generally.

At 53 I hadn't even started running! In my sixties I was managing sub-3 hour marathons (having stopped drinking beer). So where does that leave your theory? It's all to do with motivation, commitment and the right sort of personalised training. which unfortunately seems to have gone by the board half way into my 70's! But some septuagenarian over in the States has been running sub- 3 hours.
Cheers!

Having only started running in January, with first race in May (Edinburgh 10K), I've now done 4 10Ks witha slight improvement each time. Since I will be 53 next Jan then how long I can keep improving might be questionable, but I mean to do some good training over the winter to see what I can achieve. (Runningfox must be the inspiration to all us late starters).

At 44 I only started running last week and am getting PB's at my 2 mile run through the park each time. Does this count?

I'm 44 too... except I've been running a while longer. My last PB was at a 10k in April
