Hi all

I recently changed the battery in my Suunto T6 and strap. The two have been paired however when the watch is connected I just get ---. The heart is flashing at the bottom of the screen. If I move the strap away from my body I get a low recording for a couple of seconds then the display reverts back to ---. Then again I move it away it displays. It also displays for a few seconds after the belt is removed.
I only got the HRM in the spring of last year, it was given to me, but was brand new and had been an event prize, and would be out of warranty. Also I haven't used it a great deal.
Has anybody any ideas what the problem might be, though I guess the strap might be faulty, but don't want to buy a new one unnecessarily.

If it is the strap does anybody know if the T6 is coded, or if there are any other belts other than Suunto that is compatible with the T6
