What running watch to buy?

Hi im trying to buy a gps running watch but not to sure what one to go for.
I want one that shows time ,distance, average pace and current pace at the same time if possible.
Ive been running for years as i have been competing in thai boxing for years but ive never really thought about times. times run out for me in the thai boxing game but runnings something that id like to push myself in.
Going to do a half marathon in october so a good gps aid would be great.

Any advice would be great.

thanks
sam.

I think there's a lot of Garmin users on here, but it might be worth checking out Polar, Timex and Suunto as well.

I just bought the Garmin 410 off Amazon last week and am really liking it so far. £140 (thats with the heart rate monitor) so a really good price. Main display has distance, time and average lap pace. The watch beeps at the end of every lap and displays your lap time for a few seconds which is handy. I'm sure there is far more you can do with it, such as setting workouts online to send to your watch but I am just getting to grips with it. Really easy to upload the data too, theres a UBS stick that you plug into your computer and when the watch is within 3 metres of the turned on computer data automatically transfers.

I got a Garmin 405cx a few months back and love it. I got on Ebay. I did have the 110 before that which worked very well. Only problem with it was it wad rubbish at connecting to there computer via the cable provided. It seems to be a problem for a lot of 110 users

I would go with the 305, it still seems to have the best bang for the buck and if you regret it you should be able to recover most of your investment selling it on eBay.

I've had the 205, which is the 305 without HRM and loved it. Only downside was that I have small wrists and even on the smallest hole, it was still too big.

Sofie, I had that problem, plus I managed to break my strap!

I bought one of these... https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1335 best thing I ever did! the other thing someone suggested, which also works a treat it put a sweatband on underneath it. it's just more comfortable all round then!

I have my eyes on the Foretrex 410 :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-Foret...4&sr=1-1-fkmr0
Is that a watch that would be suited for running ?
Cheers?

I've got the 110 and really rate it.

It's very simple which could be a drawback if you want something you can tailor and fiddle with. Comes with HRM too which is good.

Great ! Does it allow you to download your run data on Garmin Connect ?
Otherwise, I have about a budget of 200 gbp for the watch and HRM.. shall i go for a more sophisticated solution ?

Yup - you can upload to Garmin Connect and also mapmyrun.com which is quite good.

Entirely up to you if you want something more complex but from your initial post, the 110 ticks the boxes.
