I know it was directed at Dave and not me... but I can't for the life of me work out what that's supposed to mean?

We both ran our 1st half marathon a while back and debated on who was going be the quickest, needless to say, Dave cheated and came out on top!
I'm going for the Bristol half again in Setpember in my ongoing search for sun 2hr

So how did your run go ?

Anyway, I didn't go for a long, proper run, as I do have a cold, so I just did 2 miles, which I completed in 11:37, which I was quite pleased with considering I feel like shit and my nose was running throughout.
I do have some questions though. I downloaded the date into the Garmin software. I like the results. It tells me my time was 11:37, my average pace was 5:47/mile, my average speed was 10.3mph and my maximum speed was 23mph (I'm a bit dubious of this last one, but it was a downhill section, so who knows. Apart from that my speed was pretty constant.
One question. Is there an easy way to view splits? I mean can you just get a breakdown, in text form, of splits (every half mile, for example), rather than having to try and read it off a graph. Also, can you set the Y axis so it is more finely grained to get exact paces etc?
Ok, now I feel like shit. Hopefully that speed run won't prolong my cold. I must have beer tonight. I can't wait to do a long run this weekend

Download SportTracks (just type it in to Google and its a free download) and load your data into that. It does really cool things with splits with predefined or user defined timings.

We used to have a 201 and 301, but bought 2x 305s well over a year ago. One was duff and went back - but these are going strong.
Bizarely there are functions missing on 305 - such as saying your name on startup! Annoying - but when you have 2x you need to know!
Also in Race mode you can't get the same screen I loved on the 301
That said - excellent bits of kit, dead accurate in a race, and essential bits of kit.
We actually use them when hiking too - (sad)

JBB - You can set an 'autolap' feature on the 305 which starts a new lap each time you reach a pre-defined distance... or you can just hit the lap button
To get a better view of the graphs, you can't change the axis scale, but you can zoom in. I might give this other bit of software a bash, though if it's anything like motion based i'll soon be going back to the basic training centre.
