Garmin 205?

Hi

I notice a few threads on garmins but none on the 205?

Having spent the past several years involved in recreational bodybuilding I have had a polar HR monitor to assist with fat loss when doing cardio as I wanted to stick in a certain heart rate zone. Now I'm not fussed, I just want to get fit and run, as constantly bulking and cutting cannot be healthy LOL...so, seeings as I don't want a HR monitor, is the Garmin 205 as good as the 305?

sorry for the ramble!

It's literally the same unit but without the HR monitor - so yeah, if you don't need the HR monitor it's a cracking bit of kit!

But, if you ever do want the HRM then with the 305 you won't need to upgrade

Cheers guys.

Iirc, the 205 is around the £90/£100 mark with the 305 about £30 more

I bought the 205 today...I couldn't wait and got robbed by Argos but that's my fault.

Very impressive, really pleased with it although atm I feel it may be wasted on me LOL.

When I uploaded the data to my laptop from my run, the distance is all in KMs? does anyone know if you can change that to miles?

you can definately change it to miles... mine is set to miles, I know Beasty and Sweaty at least have theirs set to KM's - I'm afraid you'll have to read the instructions on how to do it, though I'd imagine it should be easy enough to find in the settings

Thanks mate, appreciate that....yeah, well happy.

I thought about what you said about the 305 and not having to upgrade later but tbh, the Mrs wouldn't let me spend any more LMAO
