Red face ATE Heart rate monitor - no instructions

A bit of a longshot - I havent trained in a long age - possibly a couple of years. Just getting back into the swing and dug out my old HRM. It doesnt seem to have an identifiable branding and I have no instructions!

I have been pressing buttons randomnly for a day with no success. If anyone recognises anything could they help??

The watch is branded ATE-H (o18). The chest strap has no brand but is marked "HRM" - DIGITAL DATA TRANSMISSION.

I know its a longshot - but it will save me having to buy a new one!

Heres hoping

Running is like mouthwash; if you can feel the burn, it's working.

Sounds silly but is the watch turned on?? (i.e. is there battery power for the watch?)

HRM's are usually very simple to use to get the basic features... put the chest strap on, put the watch on, and it'll tell you your Heart rate... if you're not even getting that far with it I'd suspect the battery may have gone in the chest strap?

Richard - I think you may have something - whilst trying to upload photyos i have taken the chest piece apart - and indeed the battery is dead. So I am off to get a new 1.2v battery and try again -- Many Thanks!!

OK - so its not the battery - new one fitted and still no luck.

Unfortunately I cant post photos as I keep getting a message that says "You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made a few posts."

Hi Soupdragon

How did you get on with the O18, I have just the same thing - I am currently working out how to get at the battery in the chest strap. I'd appreciate a heads up on how you did this or even the use of the watch and what the different modes are.

Bob

Hi soupdragon and bob1234

I'm having the same problem. Bought this model a couple of years ago but have now lost the instructions and cannot for the life of me work out how to operate it. did either of you have any luck with finding instructions? If so would be very grateful for any help.

Hi
all you need to do to cahange the battery is lift the corners of the rubber on the back of the chest strap, each corner has a small screw holding the battery compartment down. Just unscrew all 4 screws and presto, you will see the battery.

cheers

Tony
