EXPIRED: Garmin Forerunner 205 - £99 New

Sweatshop are now selling the Garmin Forerunner 205 for a cracking price of £99.

Sweatshop | Running Shop | Accessories | Garmin Forerunner 205

For those who aren't aware, the Forerunner 205 is identical to the 305, but without the Heart Rate Monitor Function - So unless the HRM is of great importance to you, this is quite the bargain

Using the code JLWS4 will also give another 10% discount until the end of January so only £89.99

A few reviews are suggesting that it takes a while to find a satellite? Is the 305 better in that department as well as having the HRM?

Just looking at the moment, but the extra 10% is a tempter.

Units are identical other than heart rate function and the colour of the casing... not sure what you mean by the extra 10% though? 205 is £89.99 with above discount... 305 is £135 from sweatshop, or £126 from handtec (but out of stock)?

EDIT: When it says it takes a while, it does... but it's not a problem - once you get used to it you just turn it on and leave it by a window whilst putting your shoes on - really not an issue

Thanks for the advice.

I meant I was slightly more tempted at £89.99 than £99.99 being as tight as I am.

Only if you want to use it on a treadmill as well.

Thank you for your reply Hrun, ive been using the nike pod with the app, i have never hated anything so much in all my days (and i have a lot of days) I will definitely get the 205 as it is an all in one package that offers more and is less bothersome than nike. I just want to run through the night and to be able to find out what i've done and how good or bad things are going. I already downloaded SprotTracks which looks fantastic just need the 205 to go with it.

I bought the Nike+Sportband a few weeks ago, as of yet not happy with it either. Lots of little things wrong with it that build upto a big pain in the butt!! Saving hard for a garmin

I seen this on offer before xmas but hd heart set on 305 i may well invest though for the price. I can justify 89.99 more than i can over a hundred quid. You know on 305 with the HR do you have wear chest strap etc. i would be interested to know HR for health reasons but then again i think sometimes best not knowing. I may well go for the 205 while i am still fairly newbie.

Just not very technical so will probably be way beyond me lol.

Hey V...

I have the 305 but I have to be honest I have not been using the HR strap/function and I cannot see me using it unless I got into some hardcore training...

I think you would be fine with the 205, it depends what you want from your running I guess… I was lucky in that I managed to snag a 305 from the Halfords website that time when there was a fault and it was giving you something like 60% off !
