OK, so here is your chance to sign up for the challenge of running 2018 miles in 2018, approximately 39 miles per week. Doesn't sound too hard eh?
The 'running week' will run from Monday to Sunday. This year we are fortunate that the year started on a Monday, so the first report will be your mileage up to an including Sunday 7th January.
I will try to do a bar chart once per week, but I'm not going to guarantee to do it by any particular day as that didn't work very well last year.
Sounds great! I have to say my mileage will be pretty pathetic this week as I'm having a recovery week and playing a snooker tournament this weekend! But after that I'll be on it!
I'm in. I ought to be able to do it but I fell short in 2017 due to chronic injuries affecting at least the first three months. This year I already need to be getting up to speed for Rotterdam marathon. Thanks for carrying the torch again, Claire.
All being well I'll probably jump ahead of the 39/week average in the first few months building up to a 53mi race in April - but hopefully this'll be my motivation to keep at it afterwards
Only 31.5 miles for me this week as I was mainly having a recovery week, back on it the last 2 days but I basically had 5 days off and my legs feel much fresher for it!
Slow start to the year for me, just 40.02 miles. Life and a dodgy toe has been getting in the way of running much. Luckily(?) I've just pulled the dodgy toe nail off, so hopefully I can get a few more miles in next week.
Off to a bit of a duff start here due to dispatching my SO to work in the Netherlands for a year, hence a period of feeling sorry for myself 30 miles YTD to Sunday.
I think that this is borderline for me, but what the hell I may as well. It's only an extra 464 miles over last year, what could possibly go wrong?
So far this year I've done a paltry 9.5 miles.
In my defence it's still less than 4 weeks since my last marathon and recovery was (and still is) very much required. I am back to training now though so things should return to something resembling normal over the next couple of weeks.
I can also join, but I am not sure I will be able to make it. At the moment, I am doing well. As of today, I am at 74 miles. I will probably slow down a bit in May.
44.8 miles for me this week, could've done a bit more, had a steady start to the week but did a HM today to bring the mileage up. Probably aim for 50 ish miles next week but I'll see how I go!
Off to a weak start too, but since there are several others in a similar position I won't drop out I'm getting physio treatment for an upper back problem that makes it painful to breathe, hence the pleasure of running is somewhat restricted right now.
Nothing this last week, and likely nothing for the coming weeks. I have a issue with my left knee and I would rather rest for a few weeks and get rid of it now, than have it reoccurring for months.
