For those of you that didn't read this week's parkrun news...
In happier news we saw our age graded record smashed out of the park this week when the legendary Fauja Singh took part in the 59th Valentines parkrun, the day before his 101st birthday! On October the 16th last year (Rosie's birthday funnily enough) Fauja became the first centenarian to complete a marathon, finishing the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 8 hours, 11 minutes, and 6 seconds. Proving that he hadn't forgotten how to run the faster stuff though Fauja completed the Valentines course in 38:34 for a new parkrun age graded record of 179.04%. On June the 10th this year he will attempt a 'vertical' marathon when he tackles the 2,046 steps of the World's 2nd tallest building, Taipei 101. Inspiring stuff indeed!
