Thought I would share this with you.

Billericay Striders 10k yesterday.

Bad preparation for the last 2 weeks

Went into the race with no great expectations,but the conditions were perfect,organistion was brilliant,and I ended up running 46`22" a PB by 53 seconds.

Rehydrated with beer after the race.(As recommended by scientists.).........

That's great Dave... Well done!!

Just goes to show that positive attitude can counteract a certain amount of bad prep ;)

Well done matey.. Imagine the time if you'd had a swift one before hand :d

Why was the prep bad - injury ?

Nothing serious Granty.

Just a slight pull in my groin and a few other little niggles.

It seemed to happen just after I Passed 1000 miles running since January.

Touch wood,Seems to have cleared up now. Thanks for asking.

Well done Dave, all that hard work has paid off. Hope you have re-hydrated enough!

Great result Dave, re-hydrating is very important make sure you had plenty ;)

Well done on your PB Dave!!!
And on giving in to scientific evidence... It must have been hard to rehydrate in such a way after that race :d

It was difficult Fulmar,but I was determined to follow their advice.........:d

I thought women wanted men with big muscles like Daniel Craig, not slim runners like us. Glad to here there may be another positive benefit to running ;)

a normal toned body is much better than great hulking muscle :embarrassed:
