Hi people!
On the 17th of March there is this event happening in my town, a mile run organized by Sport Relief. As I have recently started to run (consider me a complete beginner) and made only a basic training which is still in its early stages, i am quite thrilled to get out with more people in an event such as that.

Has anybody done it before? Is there any basic tips as to how to run a mile, or is the thing just flat out simple that does not deserve even a second thought? Can you tell me your views please? thanks!

Hi Sergi :)

A mile is easy enough to run, if you are a complete beginner remember not to sprint off at the start, just do the first half at a steady speed then speed up, and try to manage a sprint at the end would be my advice. It would probably take 6 to 10 minutes, depending on how fast you are naturally.

Have fun :)

Evening Sergi,

I'd say pretty much the same as Katten, depends on what your level of fitness is at the moment but I'd have thought you'll be OK. Start steady and aim to sprint towards the finish :d
