I noticed a few ladies wearing compression socks whilst racing at the weekend, a la Paula Radcliffe.

Has anyone tried these? What are the benefits? (Apart from keeping your legs warm :) )

They work on the same principle, although I believe skins are all-body?

Idea behind socks is to help circulation - prob more beneficial after the race than during, to avoid pools of lactic forming.

Running pumps the blood back from the calves anyway.
I think they are a waste of money with dodgy pseudo science to back them up!

Compression socks are superb. Try the 1000 Mile Socks version and you will never train or run without them again. They reduce calf fatigue to a minimum and go a long way to preventing those marathon aches and pains.

To simply say they're to move blood and fluid is not to understand their true worth.

Try a pair, you will be impressed.
