Hi Ya
I know you get loads of these emails saying hello there i am new.
I have been lurking as a guest for a while, plucking up courage to actually join.
So hi
I am not a born and bred norfolk lass i am born and bred Londoner, but moved to norfolk for some fresh air.
I am a mum of two, one aged 9 and the other 2.5 (i am 32)
I have loads over 4 stone in weight since 2000 (i was overweight before pregnant stage)
I am very proud of losing that weight but it only took about a year to loose, and now i have to tone up of course.
I have been going gym since January (in my lunch hour) last year to improve my fitness and health, before i felt so lethargic etc..
bear with me here... i do running on treadmill, rower, x trainer etc, and some weights, but i have always had admiration for runners and think i would love to do that.
I have read treadmill has not got the same affects as running outside, last year i done the race for life and nearly died (did it in 43 mins) walked and jogged.
This year i did it again and this time i did not stop and i did it in under 30 mins. (did alone)
My goal for next year is to do a 10k
i have been doing power walking on the treadmill on the highest incline too to build up the power in my legs.
I have now decided to go running every other day in my lunch hour.
Yesterday i did 5k in 30 mins the the route is a very long hill and a really steep one.
I did not go mad just did as i read, relaxed and talked to myself to help my breathing etc..
I think i am fairly fit (not brill) but i do go gym everyday and i do a good workout, i dont sit about.
I am thinking of doing the brands hatch 10k and i hope could finish it. (doing it alone, as none of my friends or family are interested)
I have a pair of trainers i wear at the gym that are nike shoxs i know they are not that good for running, do you think i should see how i go, or shall i get a good pair now.
And shall i aim to do 5k every other day or push for more, i can do 5k comforably at this stage and not pushing myself too much. i think on flat i could do even better (but i think no runs are completely flat, unlike in holland (where hubby is from, he said he could run for 15 miles, i said thats cause you got no hills
)
BUT i have huge admiration for you lot, hopefully i can be as good one day. :d
I have a little ache today my thighs slightly and when i cough (got cold) i feel my stomach muscles slightly
