I remember when Daniel Komen became the first and only man to run back to back sub 4 minute miles (8 miles in 7:58) and was an instant fan. He has also broken world records at 3k and 5k. His indoor 3k record still stands as one of the greatest times in athletics. But he has only won one major Gold medal (at world championships). I just can't figure out how he didn't achieve more and why he is rarely mentioned as one of the greats, because his times were phenomenal.

Then along came Gebrselassie.... Every dog has his day. It's interesting they both came from large families and ran long distances to school. Walking/running to school seems to have gone out of fashion nowadays.
Cheers!
