Another newbie here. The story so far is....
Packed in my gym membership (to save money) So now decided to take up running (tomorrow afternoon) My plan is to run on a morning before work. So at the moment picking up gear - bought so far - Heart Rate monitor (hoping it will stop me from over doing it), a couple of books, water bottle. Clothing wise I already have that, oh and a decent pair of trainers.
So any tips would be nice. Cheers

HeHe you remind me of me, all the gear, no idea :d

My latest useless nugget of advise is:

Decide how far you thnk you can manage and run half of it. You will enjoy it and can start building slowly from that point.

Welcome.

Sounds like you're off to a good start! My main bit of advise would be to have a gait analysis done when buying your trainers (as you may have read elsewhere on the forum). It'll hopefully save you posting in a few weeks/months time saying "I spent £xx on new trainers and now i'm injured"

Best of luck and keep us updated with your progress ;)
