Today I swallowed a fly whilst running. Flew right into the back of my throat, just as I ran past a petrol station. I stopped, gagged, spat, swore etc. Think the drivers must have thought I was having a heart attack.

A few weeks ago a fly flew right into my eyeball. Ok, I could get sunglasses, but run with a mask on....

Can you die from live fly eating???

I wouldn't worry yourself over it... sadly the odd fly here and there is unavoidable really... just try not to run with your mouth hanging open ;) heheh.

Thanks for your comment Hrun. Being of a sad nature (and having just disposed of my children to their grandparents for the rest of the day for the first time in years), I have investigated this fact further on the net. Found some interesting posts at the guardian: Is it true that the average person ''eats'' upto 4 spiders in their sleep during their lifetime? | Notes and Queries | guardian.co.uk.

Quite honestly, I think it's best not to think about it any further. Some things are just not meant to be swallowed ;)
