I am working my way up from zero to running a half marathon. In the cooler weather I was making good progress getting up to a 5 mile run before I had to take a 4 week break but now as the weather is getting warmer I'm thinking of doing some of my runs first thing when it is much cooler.
What would be the best runs I could do in 30 minutes that could benefit my half marathon training goal.

I honestly think running a half would be a bit of a shock to the system if you’re sessions are typically just 30 minutes.

Have you tried looking at half marathon training plans based on your target finishing time? I don’t like to run half’s competitively unless I’ve had at least a dozen or so long runs under my belt, ie. 10-14 mile runs at a slower than race pace.
