As I may have mentioned, just back into running and signed up for the Hastings marathon in December.

As I have been told today that the half was tough.........any suggestions on training shedule / races before the big day?

I am slowly builing up the number of days I go out. Apart from tonight , when I am trying out a pilates class, Tuesdays and thursday are club training nights............Tuesday being road run of between 4 to 8 miles and thursday grass work...i.e. speed / hill work.

Sat I do yoga and then a 40 to 50 minute run - gentle pace along toe path.
Sunday spin class in a.m again followed by 50 min gentle pace.

Plus tring to eat plenty of pasta and fruit.

I know I have to build up the longer run for the weekend.........

But don`t want to do too much too soon as I have been out of it for so long.........:embarrassed: :(

Hi LB, I used the Flora 1st timers for beginners marathon training when I ran my one and only Marathon this year, it was a 16 week schedule and designed for the 'real world'. worked a treat for me, couple of times a week and gradually increasing the weekly long run, if you'd like I'll dig out the url and post it.
