I started running in Jan 08 after deciding to improve my weight and health after turning 50. Still getting the hang of running. I have completed two 10k runs - Lincoln and Leeds and one half marathon Nottingham. I am trying to improve my times, I did the 10k runs at around 54 minutes but it was 2hrs 5m for the half. I have applied to join Kimberworth Striders and I go to the gym three times a week and run three times.

I do seem to struggle after 11 miles but hopefully having done the half marathon ny confidence will grow. My next planned race is Blackpool, hopefully I can get in under 2hrs.

I`m sure you`ve got that sub 2 hour half in you.

Welcome to the forum and well done on the progress so far, Johnny!

You'll be under 2 hours in no time, especially if you're training with the Striders. Training with a club will bring you on leaps and bounds.
