I've been breathing all my life, and at 54 I've got a lot of experience. As a newcomer to running (I prefer to call it jogging), I was wondering how the more experienced runners breathe. Do you consciously breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. Went for a 3mile jog and I was feeling really parched today and saliva got frothy and not wet. Maybe it's my breathing technique. How do you breathe?

Just breathe. Thats all there is to it. Unless you are an elite athlete it makes no difference.
Keep your head up and shoulders back (you should never see your feet) to keep your airways open.

Cheers for the reply. Head up and shoulders back...I remember reading that on one of your other replies, sound advice too.
