Im not looking for a time, just to finish the distance feeling good.

I can run 6 miles fairly easy, but thats the most I have ever run before.

Do you think this distance is too soon for me to undertake?

with 6 weeks to go? Definitely not... As long as you make yourself go out to train for it :)

I think you'll be fine, my first one I only ever managed to run 10 miles once before the race and I felt fine (like you, I was not aiming for a tme but just to complete it.)

Go for it - Good luck.

I have a friend who managed the GNR this year having not completed a run longer than 6miles in training... she had to walk part of it but she surpassed my expectations and still managed to finish.

Focus on getting the mileage in and I'm sure you'll make it round okay... then you have to start planning for your next half so you can improve your time ;)

No problem at all :)

Just do 5 good weeks with a decent amount of running, then an easy week in the run-up to it.

In the race, remember to start slowly, the pace of one of your easy regular runs, do NOT do what I always do and go haring off, then slow down badly towards the end

Good luck, best wishes :)

The Brighton one on the 17th Feb.

Its not called the Brighton half, it has another name which I have forgot.

Its along the front, should be nice to run by the sea.

Thanks again guys.

And Happy New Year.
