It's coming to the time of the year when I have to arrange next year's club championships....our year runs from April - March.

The points system is not a problem but the nature of the races is at the moment.

I'm thinking along the lines of runners having to do 8 out of 10 events....they can do all 10 but only the best 8 score.

I want to make it as even a championship as possible so the events must cater for all.

What would think of the following line up of events:-

2 5ks
2 5ms
2 10ks
1 10ms
1 1/2m
2 X-COUNTRY

depending on where you are, why don't you add a fell or a hill race..
Not many hills/fells in Suffolk/Norfolk I'm afraid!

We do have a nasty little 4.75m race in Lowestoft every September...The Scores. First half is like any other race.....second half involves going up and down The Scores...goodness knows how many steps!

..not many places further from hills than Essex, but I guess that you're one as we must be closer to the likes of Box Hill; that race in lowestoft sounds interesting though

It is a good little race...different but hard work. There were 175 runners last year. Winner did it in 26:28! The last person in did it in 55:17. I was 41st.
