Hi all

I've had Mizuno Waverider trainers for years and am v happy with them. I am a road runner doing 5-10k a few times a week. Nothing too serious. I recently bought the trail version as the online description says:
"Wave Rider shoes providing a special sole that can be worn for running on roads and even light trails. The heel wedge won‘t pick up dirt and rocks due to an outer sole with tougher grip and filled cushion holes. For those who want to go beyond running on roads."
The cushioning is between mid and ultra soft (which Is good because I have a knee issue). But my friend said I should definitely NOT be wearing trail shoes for road running.

What do you think?

I have a pair of them and use the normal Waverider most of the time. The Trail is fine enough on the road although I ponder that the tread will wear quicker if the compound is softer. I find that they seem to have a firmer feel against a normal Waverider feeling softer and more absorbant whilst running on road.

Basically, you would be fine since it isn't an out and out trail shoe.

PS I am running about 60 miles a week on mixed terrain and they work for me.
