Hi all,

New to the forum, looking for tips on getting longer distances and any other helpful advice.

Started running in early 2019 when my partner signed me up for a 10K as a "get in shape you fat git" challenge, and I haven't stopped since. Managed my 10K in 1 hour 2 minutes at the end of October 2019, and since then run 5k 2-3 times a week. Looking now to run longer distances and eventually work up to a Half marathon, maybe end of this year or 2021.

If you want to get to half-marathon you need to commit to it rather than set a goal so far off in time that it seems non-threatening :) I'd start with trying to get used to four times a week, mostly at a definitely easy effort, but one outing a bit longer or with a bit of higher intensity.
