Hi all,

I am an athletic 28 year old female, running distance 5km - 21km. No known heart related conditions. Hypertension and high cholesterol in family.

My resting heart rate is around 52bpm, but when I’m doing a light/moderate perceived effort short run - I’ve noticed that my heart rate sits between 185-200bpm for most of the run (on the age related heart rate max - zone 5).

Wondered whether anyone has had similar? Contemplating going for a treadmill stress ecg.

How are you measuring your HR? wrist based HR monitor or Chest strap?
What is your HR on a higher intensity run?
220-AGE is not an accurate or scientific basis for calculating max HR.
