I tried on a pair of salomon wing XT`s today and they felt oh my god comfortable...

BUT.... I`ve read a few horror stories about laces snapping pretty quickly..

Do any of you use salomon shoes....?

If so have the laces been ok...??

Can you buy spare quick lace kits...???

Should I just go with the Saucony`s pro grid Xodus instead.....

ps...ALL my running is off-road... anything from smooth wide open fire roads to super technical single track with mud/rocks/roots/fallen trees...

pps.. thanx in advance for any replies...

from what i have heard the actual laces dont fail, its where they are joined to form the loop which is just heat sealed.

i had a pair of salomons and the lace system was really nice

i liked the look of the shoes.. and the lacing system.. but for multiday racing if it goes you're screwed .. that was my thinking.

I've had a pair of these too and they 'failed', but it wasn't the lacing system it was where they attached to the actual shoe, as suggested by beasty. They just started tearing off, which didn't really effect the shoe but I stopped using them as if they'd completely fell off during a long run I'd have been screwed.
