Im not joining to have the chance of running at competition level but I like the idea of getting discount from Run & Become (its just down the road from my work) and I like getting magazines in the post :)
You also get discount on any SA races i.e. The east coast series of half marathons and a lot of other races....

For £15 a year I thought I would give it a go and see what its like.

Just having a quick squizz at the S.A. site I notice there's no details for races after October. I was hoping to enter a couple of events later in the year and usually rely upon the site to keep me up to date with what's up and coming. Hopefully it's just that they are waiting to upload the winter calendar.

I'm thinking of entering my first cross country event this winter.

They'll probably put the details up nearer the time. Have you checked the Runners World or Fetch race listings.
