Hey everyone,

I've just got back from my athletics training and feel a bit disheartened:((. We started off with the usual warm up of a run round the park we train in, and then we did 90 seconds fast running, 60 seconds walking for 5 reps.
This was fine and i kept up with my friend who i want to compete against, but we had 5 minutes rest and then did another set and i just couldn't keep up and ended up running on my own.
I hope this makes sense and if not i'll re-write it but i was just wondering what should i do to make sure i can keep up for the second set and generally keep my pace later on. I have full access to a gym and obviously the road so will try anything!

please help
cheers
Adam

when you say keep up with a mate is he faster than you or about the same?
could be he has a better short game than you but over distance you are the same

next time i would hang of the back of them for the first set and save something for later, over time you should get better
its not allways good to run at someone elses pace
