I have somehow managed to pull part of the tendon off the hip-bone (tensor fascia lata (sp?))and it is taking a long time to mend, so I'm trying to find out if there is anything I can do to speed up the healing process?
I've been to see a physio and have been doing various stretches and rubbing an ibuprofen gel on the affected area, but blood doesn't get to the tendons as much as normal muscles? Have had acupuncture but it doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot?Anything else I can do?

Anything you can do to speed up blood flow to the area will be beneficial... Obviously icing will help reduce inflammation and help prevent further irritation, but heating the area should aid blood flow... compression will aid blood flow as will elevation, though not sure what you can do about that short of standing on your head?
