Anyone going to run this?

I'm a little tempted... I've never run a mile race before - not even at school (although I did try 4 laps of the track last year for a FetchFive special).

But will probably wait and see if there's a local one organised somewhere - I don't really want to head into the centre of London for it... even if Gary Linekar and Jonny Wilkinson *might* turn up.

much as i appreciate the idea, the thought of paying a fiver to run/jog/jostle a mile does not fill me with delight. last night 40 odd of us paid homage to Bannister with a measured mile, run in groups for sub 6, sub 8 and over 8 mins. it was great fun and totally knackering. try to talk your club into organising one, you can measure a suitable course in a park or somewhere safe.

Get on that track and have a club night for the mile. BBQ after, a few beers....nice.
The track is the place for the mile! Not the road!
