I have been running for 2 months now and find it, interesting. I have been a good cyclist and still am. I built up to 5 km. on local road course, out and back, a bit hilly. I'm at 28.42 but can't seem to improve. Do I keep running the 5 k as fast as I can or is there a training regime that would help me improve. Any constructive advice is welcome.

What helped me was alternating between 5k fast runs (at 100%) and distance long runs. Aim for 6k, then for 7, etc focus on distance than speed.

Thanks for the help. I shall increase distance bit by bit and go steady for a while. Sounds like a good plan.

I would say even slower than going steady. Make 4of 5 outings or 80% at an easy level, all the way until you become elite :)
