Hi

This is one for bairy just wonder why is it when you start a new thread or reply to one your not automatically subscribed to that thread. Nearly all forums i use this is the case.

Any other members what are your thoughts on this?

If you're asking why it's not done in general, because it would annoy people.

If you're asking why it's not done here, because it would annoy people ;)
If it auto subscribed people then they might rely on their UserCP to tell them of updates rather than visiting the forums, and then they'd miss threads they haven't seen yet.
On the other hand they might visit the forums and ignore their subscribed list which would increase the database size for no reason.

If you're wondering how to auto subscribe to threads when you make them or reply to one, in your Edit Options page, under Messaging & Notification is a Default Thread Subscription Mode.

Ahh!

Me being blonde didn't realise there was a way of setting a default subscription in the edit option page (must pay more attention). So the point of not auto subscribing to a thread as default makes sense. Didn't know we had the option. :embarrassed:
