Sup. Great forum you guys have here, glad I found you!
I’m 29, live down in Devon. I took up running about a year ago. I had never done any running before, I had this idea in my head that running to the shops would be beyond me... never was much in to regular exercise. I’m a fairly healthy chap, athletic build, never been overweight. I started running because a friend of mine was training for the Marathon Des Sables (he just got back from the event a couple of weeks ago). Now that’s way beyond me at the moment, but seeing him out training every other night I thought I would have a bash at running, and here I am! I stopped over the winter, but have started going out again twice a week, doing about 4 miles around where I live. I run at about 10 minutes a mile.
I have some decent trainers, purchased with some help from my local specialist sports shop. I am not much of an expert in running technique or nutrition, so am hoping to learn from you all as I build my fitness levels. I have been resting up this last week, done something to my right calf muscle, got some muscle ache. Googling for info was how I stumbled across runnersforum.co.uk.
