Well, as there are a few of us using the C25K routine, might be nice to have our own club house to compare notes in.

So far I have just started but I will be very nosey with anyone else doing it.

So, post your thoughts, inspire us and don't gossip too much!

Ah I was just coming in to do that! Was going to add that it's a continuation of the thread found at this page for anyone who wondered.

Would it be a good idea for everyone's first post to include where they're up to? Obviously it's going to change weekly but people can see by the date who they'll be near or who is ahead etc.

Week: Four
Last Run: Wednesday 28th July
Next Run: Friday 30th July

Look forward to keeping up with all of you and coming here for inspiration!

This is a good idea! It's nice to know I'm not alone, and the rest of you are suffering too!! ;)

I keep forgetting what week I'm on because I'm always looking ahead to see how much harder it's going to get! Must concentrate on the current week!
All in all though, I am quite proud of myself (so far). On day 1 of week 1, I really thought I would have to look up another plan just to get myself to 'couch' level. 'Knackered and extremely unfit -to- Couch' and then I could start the C25K!!

Hi,

Finally managed to complete Week Four Day 2 today.

I say finally as I was mean't to do this run yesterday, but some noisey neighbours returning from their hols at 3.30am woke me up and when I got back to sleep was too tired to get up at 5am and go running. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Anyway, the first 3 minutes of running this morning was really good, the next 5 minutes was a bit of a killer and I must admit I did feel like stopping but carried on. The final 5 minutes of today seemed a little easier and to be honest I was really glad when the alarm went off to signify the end of the routine.

I actually remember thinking, (what the hell am I doing? 5.20am running through bloody woods, I must be mad), as I hit the 4 minute mark on the first 5 minute run. I actually felt like stopping and giving up. :(

I think what kept me going was knowing that I had already done this earlier in the week, so I knew that I could do it.

Last day of week 4 on Friday for me and then off on holiday, so I'm hoping that I can carry on and complete week 5 while on holiday. If not I am going to have to fall back a week i reckon.

Well done for getting up so early! Are you tired for the rest of the day? My run was at 6:30 this morning, half an hour late. I went for a 10 minute nap after I put my daughter in her bed, and woke up an hour and a half later!!

VERY nice. I would definately plan to run on holiday so you should go for it. We went on hols with family to Barcelona a few years back and my Father-in-Law to be did a couple of runs on the beach, he loved it and I actually look forward to one day being able to do that on holiday!

Yes me too! I knew I could do it so there was no reason not to! Well done for getting it done - I'm hoping Friday's run will be easier. :worried:

Phil, well done. 5am is really early, you're very determined! :)

Will you be able to run on holiday? Hope so, it'd be good to stay on track. I'm off to Cornwall for almost 2 weeks in a week and a half. I'm hoping to get at least a few runs in there. (really don't want to fall too far behind) I'm going to get up early and just go for it. I'm hoping the holiday mood, and staying with friends, chatting, eating, drinking, etc. won't mean I just think 'oh, sod it!!' :D

I'm getting up at 6.30 tomorrow to run at 7am. (I said that yesterday, and managed it at 9am...)

Maybe you should check into this site every other day either on your friends computer or your phone if you can do that! Keep the momentum going. Cornwall is fab, my sister lives there with her family in St Agnes. :)

Well, I did week 3 day 2 this morning. It was ever so slightly easier than the first one this week, but only just!

Hope everyone is having a good day, resting or running!

Good work Fi, your final day on week 3 should be a nice enjoyable run, it was for me.

To answer Vicki's question about feeling tired, I don't really feel tired untill about 10.30 pm, but by then I am already slobbed out on the couch anyway. It's only the days I go running when I get up at 5am, the others I have a lie in untill 6.30am. My partner is a nurse and she normally is up around 5.30am anyway.

The running is actually getting me fitter I reckon, therefore I am not feeling so tired as I used to.

Tomorrow is my final day on week 4 and I am going to slow things down again on this run. Refelecting on day 2, I think that I felt like giving up because my mind thought that I could go quicker, when actually I can't yet.

As for running while I am away, we are off to Wales staying in or near some forest, so should be able to keep the programme up. I wish we were off to Cornwall as I quite fancy a seaside run along the waterfront somewhere, but for now the wild wild west of Wales will have to do.

Week 1 day 2 done...a bit harder this morning but still not impossible. on my first day i spent a bit of time between intervals faffing about with the stopwatch on my watch...a bit fiddly but it worked. So yesterday I got an app for my Blackberry claiming it was the c25k app. Its just an interval timer that keeps note of where you are an appeared to be following the routine. Used it this morning and all ws going well, no faffing about with the watch untill after the third interval and it started saying run then jog...weird. It went on for slightly longer than the routine I had read too. Its not a bad thing but just put me off a little so I ignored it at the end and stuck to what I have read.
Are there any other Blackberry users that use an app for running with? I was a bit dissapointed that I had got this one as it claomed to be c25k but wasn't really.

Anyway, a nice run and still not losing motivation ;)

Well done! I camt help with blackberry apps, I use the GetRunning app which I give 100% credit for getting me started and excited about running. If you have an ipod touch you can get that. I use my iPhone.

So - I finished week 4 today and SO amazed and happy :) chuffed. Elated. I actually managed it with much more ease than before. I'll write it all up later on my blog but the main thing is I think I've finally found my breathing way! I had been doing in nose, out mouth. I started this at the gym when I used to go because I'd suffer in my throat but did mouth breathing, focused on feeling each breath fueling my muscles and it was easier!

Well done Vicki, I was wondering when your final run this week was.

Completed Week 4 this morning - yippee. I found it really good going this morning and the last 5 minutes of the run I was cruising, well I was more like a HGV rather than a Ferrari, but its still early days!

I had to change my route this morning as the police had closed the road leading up to the woods where I normally run. So I took a detour (mainly up hill) and ran back passed the closed road to see what was going on. Big mistake, I saw the remains of a shocking road traffic accident and 2 cars completely mangled with the roofs cut off. I hope that noone was too badly injured.

I was supposed to finish my final 5 minute run near the scene of where the accident occured, but there were two police officers stood by the cars and I just had to keep on running past them. I can't imagine what they must have thought, when they saw me running towards them, all 6'4 of me, out of breath, sweaty and looking like some injured beast.
I would of been unable to have spoken to them anyway, as I was as normal out of breath, so decided just to keep running untill I was out of sight. Which incidentally mean't that when I had finally stopped running, I had ran for a total of 7 minutes. The longest so far!

Two days rest now and then Week 5 commences on Sunday..............

Philhip - Oh my. That's an unpleasant turn of events. I have to admit that your message made me laugh - running 7 minutes past the police so you didn't look like you we're giving up and walking! It made me laugh because that it totally me! :) (I'm afraid I would also have gone to see what was going on) It must be great to know you can manage 7 minutes - a great start to week 5. (ARGH WEEK FIVE...)

I usually rest for the whole weekend but think I might go out on Sunday I want to get to my 5K point so I can start to train for 10K, I have my eye on a race in October.

I've updated my blog now in my usual garbled, disorganised way!

Now I have new running shoes I keep getting the urge to go out in them! I know I shouln't, I ran yesterday. I suppose I can't anyway as my fiance is at a stag do today so I'd have to get a sitter for an hour anyway, new shoes just make me want to wear them lol. I made do with a jog around the kitchen!

Ha ha Vicki, you're obsessed! ;)

I did W3D3 this morning. So that's another week out the way!

Hopefully week 4 on Monday. My left ankle feels a bit tender though. Not sore or swollen, just a bit achy. I can walk on it fine, so I'm hoping a rest day will see me back to full fitness! I've just put some ibuprofen gel on it and it's stuck up in the air on a huge beanbag. It's not all that bad, I think I'm going over the top a bit! But the thought of not being able to run on it on Monday is scaring me!! Three weeks ago I wouldn't consider running anywhere, now I'm panicking that my training regime is going to fall apart!!! What did I say about obsessed?!

Philhip, your 7 minutes made me grin! (Although I hope everyone was alright there, obviously) Maybe we need to station police officers every so often along your route! Then you'd go on for ever!!

Pete, glad you're still motivated! Nearly done week 1. Week 2 I found a bit easier. (A bit...) Not sure about the apps. I made a playlist, timing the songs almost perfectly (thanks Vicki). I just need to remember I run on Elvis, Pulp and Ned's Atomic Dustbin, and walk on the Beatles, Queen and Foo Fighters! I've also used the podcasts you can download.

And Vicki, a little bit of a jog around the kitchen is ok! Or a dance! You have got new shoes after all. :) (I know they are expensive, and very suited to your running style. Performance, obviously, is key. But, coz we're girls, I need to know, what colour are they?)

Well I am one for either putting in 100% or nothing - which is why I often obsess about something for a while then overdo it and lose interest. Hoping I can keep the running up though so feel free to PM me if I don't post for a few days!

These are the shoes. I wouldn't have chosen this style or colour normally but I was good and went for fit and performance over style. I only had two to choose from, the others had more red in them and looked masculine!

Oooh nice! I like them :) That colour is good too, more girly than the red. You haven't run properly in them yet, have you? You'll have to let us know if it really makes a difference.
