Its my first half marathon on sunday (27th april) and I did a 10 mile run on monday. I was planning a 7-8 mile final run on wednesday but a couple of mates reckon I shouldn't run until the half marathon now. Any advice? I feel strong but don't want to get carried away.

I would at least go for one or two short and gentle runs. If you take 4/5 days off before a half marathon race, you won't be at your best. Just do a couple of gentle 10ks and maybe go for a 4 mile jog the day before.

Resting won't harm you, but probably won't keep you at your peak... I had a rough week last week and haven't ran since Thursday - but I'm going out for 4.3miles tonight, a short swim on thurs and another 4.3mi on friday... then feet up and rest all day Sat :d
