is it okay to wear trail running shoes, such as the salomon xa ultra pro, for road running? are there any negative effects caused by doing this? will it cause injury in any way?

potentially.... lack of cushioning... lack of support.
and some will have a softer tread so would wear quicker.

if you can cope with the above then no problems.... i've run at least one road marathon in my trail shoes.

as ed says it depens on your running style. i suffered painful knees from running on the road in my salomons due to the lack of support and my over pronation.

ive reacently switched to some mizumo that seam to have more support but i havnt tried these on-road yet.

also the grips are softer so will wear out quicker

personally, if i could avoid it, i wouldnt want to run distance in my trails on the road
