Hello!

I am currently training for a marathon and my weekly average is about 45km. I normally do a long run (15-25km) one short run (5km) and two medium runs (10km). I am about 8 weeks away from race day... am I running enough, or should I increase my mileage?

Thanks,
Jen.

You need to increase your mileage. 27 miles a week is not enough for a marathon, and you have to have been regularly running 18-20 miles on your weekly long runs to be really prepared for a marathon. But then in the couple of weeks before the event you need to taper, so you don't really have enough time to get ready. Then again, it depends how fast you expect to run. If you are happy to just get round, you'll probably be ok, but I would at least try to do a couple of long runs (20 miles) before you race and run at least 35 miles a week. Good luck.
