Can someone please enlighten me as to what this means!! I see it quite often talked about by the more professional runners on this forum.

It is a measure of fitness. It is the amount of Oxygen your body can consume while exercising at your maximum capacity

VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen in milliliters, one can use in one minute per kilogram of body weight
