What have you all done to me? There I was happy that I was upping my exercise level a bit, then I met you lot!

And now:

Torbay Regatta 10k Road Race

Yesterday I put my registration in the post for my first race  Not only that, it is a 10K as I could not find a 5K locally on a date I could do.

I am fairly comfortable as I know I can do the distance and am not bothered how fast, this time. All I need to do now is stay injury free and keep running.

You're saying that time doesn't bother you. That's just what I said. I can just see you on the day though you will be there getting swept along trying to get past the bloke in front of you.;)

Btw my first one last week I was rubbish. I run so much better in training, I now realise I got hit with nerves and it made me tense so it was hard for me to breath. I will try to sort that out, don't know how like.

Nice to hear it is a good one. I thought about it for quite a bit.

The red arrows are later in the week.

How did the forum meet go? Oh, and the race. Was much liquid fuel imbibed.

It's funny, when I did my first and only 10k so far (GMR), I think i forgot all about breathing for the first half a k - then realised, hang on, I'd better start breathing or I'm finished here!

I seemed to be able to breathe better after that than I have before or since, had a nice steady rhythm going - mind you the whole thing was quite surreal, I just kind of got swept up with the whole thing.

Am sure you will do better in the next one - I am getting a bit nervous now about the City of Manchester 10k - the GMR seemed like everyone and his wife was doing it, this other race seems more like a "real" race for some reason!
