Has anyone else suffered from poor calf function ....ie unable to do single heel raises, hopping and difficulty in toeing-off in their running gait???

This has recently happened to me, relatively out of the blue:confused: , although my running has lost it's speed....distance still OK. Last year I noticed my running becoming a struggle and not really knowing why.

Then in October I damaged my left leg doing a basic hamstring stretch and have been lame ever since. Only when investigating this did I notice the lost function in the gastrocnemus and arch.

Any ideas???

Way beyond my physiological knowledge I'm afraid. I know my father suffered and injury to his left leg almost 3 years ago now, and since I've started running he's fancied taking it up again, but simply can't as he has no strength in that leg at all.

Sounds like you're managing to keep going though which can only be a good thing :)
