Entering races and following a schedule so when it comes to the day you have worked so hard for it is a fantastic feeling when you finish, and then book the next one

It is easy to lose motivation without a goal.

Looking at the the times of other members on this forum,I find gives me good motivation to better myself and keep/increase my weekly mileage.
Also,I enter events that friends/family are doing to.This keeps the motivation up as you are all working for a similar goal. Then a few beers afterwards.:d

being injured.... I would love to be able to go out for a run like I used to without worrying about my injury

If you're not injured, be grateful and get out there

Knowing that this time last year I couldn't even get to the end of the road.
Finishing races and feeling great.
Feeling fitter.
Getting in the shower after a long hard run.
Listening to some really great music.
Getting out in the countryside, even without a dog.
Knowing that I can run off that extra onion bargee.
Meeting new friends.
Set some targets, no matter how small and go for them.

Anything else.....oh yeah, get off yer butt and get out the door, you will feel much better for it.

What motivates me to run.....

....the need to feel the tarmac beneath my feet. The need to escape and forget everything else. The desire to want to be better, not better than anyone else, just better myself + I love it.
